Promotion follows retirement of long-time CIO Brian Neely
August 26, 2025 – Chantilly, Va. – AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a leading provider of mission essential and information engineering services to federal customers, announced the promotion of Srinivas Rautwar to Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective August 25. Rautwar, formerly Director of Information Technology Operations for the company, fills the position vacated by the retirement of Brian Neely, who held the position for more than two decades of distinguished service in the CIO role.
As CIO, Rautwar will lead the overall vision, planning, and management of all technology, security, and information management-related resources throughout the employee-owned company.
“After conducting a thorough search of internal and external candidates, Srinivas was a natural choice to fill this position on our Executive Leadership Team,” noted John Steckel, president and CEO of AMERICAN SYSTEMS. “He is an accomplished senior IT leader with a proven track record of driving enterprise capabilities by leading IT vision, strategy, and large-scale project initiatives.”
Rautwar, who joined the company in 2007, has more than 25 years of broad IT and Business Process Improvement experience, having held senior level positions with firms such as IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Cognizant Technology Solutions. Rautwar holds a Bachelor of Technology from Sri Venkateswara University, India.

Rautwar was instrumental in the company’s achieving the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 certification with a perfect score of 110 following an accredited C3PAO assessment in June 2025 — an achievement that positions the company among a small, elite group of federal contractors nationwide.
