AMERICAN SYSTEMS Named GSA Mentor of the Year

AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a leading provider of federal IT and engineering solutions, today announced it was named the 2012 General Services Administration (GSA) Mentor of the Year during the Mentor-Protégé Training meeting in May. The award is given annually as part of GSA's Mentor-Protégé Program, for which AMERICAN SYSTEMS participates as a mentor to Advanced Management Strategies Group, Inc. (AMSG), a Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The accolade acknowledges AMERICAN SYSTEMS' excellence in providing technical and business development assistance, as well as subcontracting and prime contracting opportunities to AMSG.

The GSA Mentor-Protégé Program is designed to encourage and motivate prime contractors to assist small businesses and enhance their capability of performing successfully on GSA contracts and subcontracts. For over two years, AMERICAN SYSTEMS assisted AMSG in improving its federal contracting opportunities, business development and back office infrastructure initiatives across areas such as product lifecycle management (PLM), logistics, systems engineering and IT services.
