THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
AMERICAN SYSTEMS collects data via the Site in four main ways:
- Data transmissions from users,
- Registration screens and online forms,
- E-mails or other correspondence sent to e-mail addresses provided via the Site, and
- Automated means such as cookies.
HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION
In general, you can visit many of our web pages without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. We may track the Internet domain address from people who visit us or a user’s identity if he or she is a return customer or is responding to a direct promotion. We analyze these data for trends and statistics, but individual users will remain anonymous, unless you voluntarily tell us who you are or opt to subscribe to one of our promotion distribution lists.
There may be times (such as when you submit an employment application) when we ask you to provide certain information about yourself, such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, and other information. Whether or not to provide such information is completely your own choice.
USING INFORMATION ABOUT YOU
We use information we collect to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our Site, and to help us make our Site more useful. To the extent that you voluntarily provide any personal information when you correspond with us, we will use such information to respond to your comment or inquiry.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS will not sell, trade, or rent your information to any others. Your information may be disclosed to AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ domestic and foreign subsidiaries. Your information may also be transferred to a third-party vendor for the purposes of data back-up, consolidation, storage, and simplified customer management. As part of any data transmission, your information may be transferred across state and country borders.
COOKIES AND OTHER TECHNICAL INFORMATION
We may send "cookies" to your computer primarily to enhance your online experience. "Cookies" are files that can identify you as a unique customer and store your personal preferences as well as technical information (including click through and click stream data). Cookies can either be permanent (i.e., they remain on your computer until you delete them) or temporary (i.e., they last only until you close your browser). We may also use "Web beacons" that monitor your use of our Site. Web beacons (or Web bugs) are small strings of code that provide a method for delivering a graphic image on a Web page for the purpose of transferring data, such as the IP address of the computer that downloaded the page on which the Web beacon appears, the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the page on which the Web beacon appears, the time the page containing the Web beacon was viewed, the types of browser that fetched the Web beacon, and the identification number of any cookie on the computer previously placed by that server. When corresponding with you through HTML capable e-mail, Web beacons let us know whether you received and opened our e-mail.
On their own, cookies or Web beacons do not contain or reveal any personally identifiable information. However, if you choose to furnish the Site with personally identifiable information, this information can be linked to the data stored in the cookies and Web beacons.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS uses commercially reasonable efforts to protect the information provided us, but there is no guarantee against inadvertent disclosure or intentional misappropriation of data by a third party.
We may periodically send our customers information regarding our products and services. If you have been receiving such information and do not wish to continue receiving such information, you may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line in the email or email us at IT@AmericanSystems.com.
The Site is not designed for children. AMERICAN SYSTEMS does not target children for the Site, nor do we solicit data, or knowingly collect personally identifiable information from them.
