AMERICAN SYSTEMS Awarded $68.6 Million Task Order for U.S. Air Force Emergency Mass Notification System

January 16, 2018 — Chantilly, VA — AMERICAN SYSTEMS today announced it was awarded a task order to develop and implement a cloud-based enterprise Emergency Mass Notification System (EMNS) solution for the U.S. Air Force (USAF). The five-year task order, valued at $68.6 million, was awarded under the USAF NETCENTS-2: Network Operations and Infrastructure Solutions contract vehicle.

Under the terms of the task order, AMERICAN SYSTEMS will provide a single USAF enterprise solution to support lifesaving and mission-protective measures. The EMNS will deliver reliable and secure emergency threat notifications to all personnel at all USAF locations on a 24 hour/7 day-a-week basis using the Blackberry AtHoc Crisis Communications Software Suite running on the Microsoft Azure Cloud. The EMNS solution will increase situational awareness for Airmen and their families, regardless of their physical location, to enable protective measures when tragic events or emergencies occur.

“We are honored to have been selected by the Air Force to supplement their global readiness communications channels with this enterprise solution,” said Peter Smith, President and CEO of AMERICAN SYSTEMS. “We know how important it is to our nation’s Airmen and their families that they have a secure, real-time emergency notification system no matter where they are serving—we know what’s at stake.”
