AMERICAN SYSTEMS Honored with 2011 CARE Award

AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a leading provider of federal IT and engineering solutions, today announced it has been named a winner of the Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS) 2011 CARE (Companies As Responsive Employers) Award. The award recognizes companies that are leaders in providing family-friendly benefits to help employees balance work and life.

“We are thrilled by this recognition, which highlights AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ dedication to cultivating a positive corporate culture,” said William C. Hoover, president and CEO, AMERICAN SYSTEMS. “We believe that our people are the most valuable asset and strive to provide the care, support and flexibility our employee-owners need.”

AMERICAN SYSTEMS was cited for clearly demonstrating its commitment to providing a workplace that caters to the needs of working families and improving the work/life balance for its employee-owners.

The CARE Awards were developed in 1992 by NVFS and area business leaders who wanted to create a positive change in the workplaces of Northern Virginia. The CARE Awards are designed to encourage companies to institute family-friendly programs by exposing them to ideas and thoughtful discussions with business leaders who have already embraced such policies.

CARE Award recipients were selected by NVFS’s CARE nominating committee based on a review of corporate policies and programs, a company tour and employee interviews.

NVFS will honor the 2011 CARE Award winners on November 17, 2011 at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, Va.
