Cost Analysis

AMERICAN SYSTEMS provides full Life Cycle Cost Estimate (LCCE) reports that include methodology, assumptions and considerations, data element references and overarching and specific constraints. We are experienced in applying a mix of engineering, parametric and analogous cost methodologies.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS uses U.S. Department of Defense approved cost models such as Cost Analysis Strategy Assessment (CASA) and Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT).

Prior to initiating an LCCE, AMERICAN SYSTEMS creates and/or validates a Cost Analysis Requirements Description (CARD).

AMERICAN SYSTEMS has created a now widely used system for the determination of cost confidence and logistic footprint factors.

A significant hallmark of AMERICAN SYSTEMS cost estimation process is the visibility and traceability of all assumptions.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS has conducted ACAT II and III LCCEs for the United States Army and Marine Corps in support of the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate (JNLWD), including the following systems:

  • Non-Lethal Capability Set
  • Intelligent Munitions System
  • TASER X26E
  • Hand-Emplaced Non-Lethal Munition
  • Individual Infantry Non-Lethal System
  • MK19 Short Range Non-Lethal Munition
  • Airburst Non-Lethal Munition

Our products included cost confidence factors based upon qualitative analyses for each element within Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), Procurement, and Operations and Support phases.
