Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance

AMERICAN SYSTEMS has been building Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) and prototype systems incorporating custom software applications since 1991. Within the past five years, we have fielded software applications for numerous Department of Defense (DOD) intelligence systems that are deployed on more than 300 stations throughout the United States and around the world.

We currently have contracts with the Communications and Electronics Research and Development Center (CERDEC) for the Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) located at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, the U.S. Marine Corps, Navy, Army, and the Office of Naval Research—all providing research, design, engineering and production of intelligence systems for tactical units. We work closely with our customers to design and develop technically sophisticated solutions to difficult operational problems. Some examples are:

Handheld Direction Finding System—AMERICAN SYSTEMS partnered with the CERDEC Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD) to research and analyze all system requirements and potential solutions to develop a fully functional, lightweight, handheld tactical direction finding (DF) system consisting of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). We delivered, under an abbreviated schedule and constrained budget, a lightweight, easy to use system that can be used alone or networked wirelessly with other units to search, direction find, and locate commercial and tactical communications emitters and automatically tip and tune other units on the same wide area network.

Manpack Signal Intelligence and Electronic Warfare (SIGINT/EW)—AMERICAN SYSTEMS partnered with our DOD Customer to research and analyze all system requirements and potential solutions to design, integrate, test, and produce a fully functional lightweight, transportable, tactical SIGINT/EW system consisting of COTS and GFE that will search, detect, collect, direction find and exploit and attack commercial and tactical emitters.
