William C. Hoover, President and CEO
William C. Hoover has been a leader in the information systems and services market sector for more than twenty-five years. Since joining AMERICAN SYSTEMS in June 2005, Mr. Hoover has led the development of the corporate Vision/2012 and strategy that will provide the focus for the company’s continued growth as a privately-held, employee-owned company.
Before taking the helm of AMERICAN SYSTEMS, Mr. Hoover served as President and COO of Dynamics Research Corporation, where he led the development of the company’s business growth strategy, focusing on maximizing return to shareholders by delivering documented and repeatable business solutions in identified strategic business areas.
Prior positions held by Mr. Hoover include President and Chief Executive Officer of FutureNext Consulting (FNC), commercially-focused systems integration and consulting services company; Senior Vice President of Oracle Service Industries; Executive Vice President of BDM International, Inc.; and President & COO of PRC, Inc. Mr. Hoover began his career as a product engineer for Ford Motor Company.
Mr. Hoover also founded and led several consulting firms, serving mid-tier companies in transition, where he used his significant and successful experience to manage dynamic organizational change while simultaneously building shareholder value.
Mr. Hoover is a veteran officer of the U.S. Navy, and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. He is active in his industry and community and serves on several professional-/industry-related boards, including: ITAA/Enterprise Solutions, Board of Directors; Electronics Industry Association, Board of Governors; AFCEA International, Board of Directors. Mr. Hoover has served as Co-Chairman of Leukemia Society of America, National Capital Region’s Gala Fundraiser; was a member of the George Washington University/Loudoun Campus, Board of Advisors from 1996 to 2000; and currently sits on the Marymount University Business School, Board of Visitors.
Mark Danisewicz, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Danisewicz has more than 25 years of experience in the government contracting services and IT sector. As AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ Chief Financial Officer since 1997, he has successfully led the company’s finance and accounting groups as AMERICAN SYSTEMS has grown from $60M to $250M in revenues.
Mr. Danisewicz led the development and implementation of the transition from a company owned by its founders to a professionally governed and managed majority-owned Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company. He has been the driving force in seven acquisitions and has provided the financial and managerial oversight as those organizations have been fully integrated into AMERICAN SYSTEMS.
Mr. Danisewicz earned an Accounting degree from John Carroll University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). In addition to his role as AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ CFO, he is on the company’s Board of Directors. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Professional Services Council (PSC).
Mr. Danisewicz was named 2008 "CFO of the Year" by Virginia Business magazine in the large private company category.

Peter Smith, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise Engineering Group/Executive Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise Services Group
Since joining AMERICAN SYSTEMS in 1980, Peter Smith has held a variety of technical and management positions throughout the company. He has been involved in customer programs related to the US Navy, US Army, and Department of State, among others. As Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Enterprise Engineering Group, Mr. Smith currently directs the company’s strategic offerings in Professional, Technical, and IT Services, Custom Solutions, and Consulting Services in the Government sector. Additionally, Mr. Smith heads the Enterprise Services Group, directing the company’s initiatives in Managed Services, Design & Installation Services, and Human Capital Services. Mr. Smith received a B.S. in Physics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University.
Finley B. Foster, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Business Development

Since March 2006, Mr. Foster has been responsible for the development of the Business Development Systems and Processes at AMERICAN SYSTEMS, where he serves as Executive Vice-President and General Manager of Business Development. Mr. Foster has been the leader of development and implementation of change and strategy to grow and increase shareholder value at a variety of companies. These companies included both public and private firms focused on providing services and products to Government and Commercial customers. Mr. Foster was a founder of United Energy Services Corporation, and led the growth of this consulting and IT services company through several phases as it grew into a wholly-owned subsidiary of publicly traded Gilbert Associates, Inc. Earlier, Mr. Foster was Plant Manager at Arkansas Nuclear One, and an officer in the U.S. Navy serving aboard a Nuclear Fast Attack Submarine. He graduated with Merit from the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in Control Systems Engineering.

Brian Neely, Chief Information Officer/Chief Technology Officer

As CIO and CTO for AMERICAN SYSTEMS, Mr. Neely is responsible for the overall planning and management of information technology (IT) and information management resources, as well as creating technology awareness and aligning IT to create maximum business value. Mr. Neely establishes and executes tactical, strategic, and financial planning; policy/procedure development; continuous process improvement; governance; and metrics for the company. He began his career at AMERICAN SYSTEMS in 1996, and has been instrumental in the company’s Strategic and Operational plans, including acquisition, growth and expansion strategies. Mr. Neely earned a B.S. in Engineering from Virginia Tech, received Executive Certificates in Management & Leadership and Strategy & Innovation from MIT, received his CIO Certification from the Federal CIO Council and Carnegie Mellon, and received his Chief Security Officer (CSO) Certification from Carnegie Mellon’s Cyber Security Lab (Cylab), where he is also pursuing a M.S. degree in Information Technology. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers; the Computer Security Institute; and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association.
Teresa Baskerville, Vice President, Human Resources
Ms. Baskerville joined AMERICAN SYSTEMS in 1978, and is currently responsible for the strategic alignment of human talent to achieve the corporate mission. As VP of Human Resources, she oversees the company’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan and staff recruiting functions, as well as community affairs and charitable programs. Ms. Baskerville earned a B.S. degree from Howard University and is a member of various HR organizations including Washington Technical Personnel Forum, WorldatWork (formerly American Compensation Association), HR Leadership Forum, and the Society for Human Resource Management.
Joe Kopfman, Vice President, Contracts and Administration
Mr. Kopfman joined AMERICAN SYSTEMS in 1978, and has more than 30 years of experience in government and commercial contracting. As Vice President of Contracts and Administration, he manages the contracts, legal, purchasing, pricing, Mergers and Acquisition, security, facilities, and general administration support departments within the company. Mr. Kopfman earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from Radford University. He is a member of the National Contracts Management Association and is active in the Professional Services Council.
