The CSRR program will serve as a communication bridge for all of the U.S. Navy’s submarine radio room systems. Using Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products, CSRR provides the U.S. Navy’s submarine force with a high-capacity interoperable subsurface communication system. There are plans to expand the program to encompass the Navy’s surface ships.
Ms. Smola led the CSRR Program through numerous developmental test events on three individual CSRR variants, leading to successful operational evaluation on three separate submarine classes.
The NDIA Tester of the Year Awards honor military, civilian and contractor professionals who support all of the military services and the Office of the Secretary of Defense for their exceptional performance and contributions to the field of test and evaluation. Award winners were honored on February 27, 2008 at a ceremony in Palm Springs, California.
