$17.5 Billion Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity Contract to Streamline Procurement of Cost-Saving Simulation and Training Products and Services
February 9, 2009 – Chantilly, VA – AMERICAN SYSTEMS today announced that it was selected to provide the U.S. Army with simulation and training services under the Simulation Training and Instrumentation Omnibus Contract (STOC II). The Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract was awarded by the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI).

STOC II will streamline U.S. Army efforts to deploy high-performance simulation and training products and services at the lowest possible cost. Army contractors evaluated proposals based on past performance, management, and cost effectiveness to select contractors best suited to rapidly satisfy the needs of U.S. warfighters. The contract will expedite the Army’s process of acquiring the latest technologies in categories such as embedded training and testing, advanced distributed learning (ADL), game applications and technology, live environment training, and individual crew and combined arms trainers and simulators, among others.
With more than 30 years of training and simulation experience, AMERICAN SYSTEMS is uniquely qualified to provide the Army with solutions that ensure soldiers have the skills necessary for the timely and effective execution of mission-critical operations. Specific training and simulation capabilities that AMERICAN SYSTEMS offers include the design, delivery and provision of: operator and maintenance trainers, advanced electronic classrooms, part-task trainers, courseware development, home port training/force protection training and underwater egress training.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS and the other selected companies are eligible to bid over the life of the program on task orders placed under the contract, which is valued at $17.5 billion over the next 10 years.
