Appointment of Patrick J. Shannon Demonstrates Company’s Commitment to Meeting Customers’ Diverse Acquisition Process and Integrated Logistics Needs
April 14, 2008 — Chantilly, VA — AMERICAN SYSTEMS today announced the appointment of Patrick J. Shannon to the position of vice president, Acquisition and Logistics Strategic Business Area (SBA).

With extensive senior management experience in the government professional services field, Shannon brings a deep understanding of the defense and federal civilian market space to his new role at AMERICAN SYSTEMS. In this position, he will lead the development and implementation of high quality and innovative solutions for customers with the mission of acquiring and sustaining major weapons systems, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) programs and other support systems.
Before joining AMERICAN SYSTEMS, Shannon was vice president of strategic planning for a $450 million division within L-3 Communications Corporation’s services group, where he led a business unit generating $80 million in annual revenue through the provision of systems engineering, acquisition and logistics support services for the United States Air Force’s aeronautical, C4ISR and space/missile acquisition organizations.
Prior to L-3 Communications, Shannon worked for more than 15 years at HJ Ford (acquired by Dynamics Research Corporation) in progressively responsible strategic planning, operational management, business development, capture and government contracts management positions, including key leadership roles in all areas of the business growth life cycle.
Shannon is a graduate of Georgetown University and has completed additional coursework in government contracting, business and personnel law at the George Washington University.
