AMERICAN SYSTEMS Taps Mark Wallace to Lead Sierra Vista/Fort Huachuca Managed Services Offering

Army Veteran to Lead Test and Evaluation Organization to Solve Sophisticated IT/National Security System Interoperability Challenges  

July 6, 2009 – Chantilly, VA – AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a government IT solutions provider and one of the top 100 employee-owned companies in the U.S.,  today announced it has appointed Colonel Mark Wallace (U.S. Army, Ret.) to oversee the development and advancement of the company’s test and evaluation capabilities at AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ new office in Sierra Vista/Fort Huachuca, Ariz.

Wallace brings to AMERICAN SYSTEMS more than 26 years of management and organizational leadership experience at all levels, ranging from tactical to theater-level experience. Additionally, he has more than 8 years of training and capabilities development experience with the U.S. Army’s Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), which is responsible for preparing military and civilian leaders to support the nation’s joint warfighting capabilities. Wallace retired from the U.S. Army in June 2009 as TRADOC Capabilities Manager for Biometrics at Fort Huachuca.   

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is leveraging its test and evaluation capabilities to solve a wide range of the DoD’s net-centric and interoperability challenges, including those associated with C4I systems and engineering, service oriented architecture (SOA), biometrics, intelligence and other net-centric technologies and infrastructure. The company’s managed services team is highly skilled in cyber and information operations as well as biometrics and boasts expertise in independent verification and validation (IV&V), certification and accreditation (C&A), compliance, conformance and developmental, operational and interoperability test services.  

Wallace holds a master’s in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College and a master’s  in computer resources and information management from Webster University.  He is based out of AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ office in Sierra Vista, Ariz.
