Former Program Managers Promoted to Lead Strategic Efforts and Development Within Respective Business Divisions
August 15, 2011 — Chantilly, Va. — AMERICAN SYSTEMS today announced the appointment of two employees, David Hunt and Bob Irelan, to vice president in two unique business divisions - National Capabilities Integration (NCI) Directorate and Navy Expeditionary Warfare, respectively.
“David is well-equipped to execute the NCI Directorate’s strategy to provide mission critical services to its customers in the federal market, and Bob is prepared to continue exceeding customer expectations with the Navy Training Systems Planning initiative,” said William C. David Hunt has been promoted to vice president and director of the NCI Directorate, part of the Joint and International Concepts (JIC) Division. In this role, Hunt will continue to develop new business and advance AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ expertise in providing organizational, technical and analytical solutions to the federal government.
Hunt joined AMERICAN SYSTEMS in 2008, previously serving as Deputy Program Manager for the $42M Omnibus Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program (JNLWP) contract, and as the lead for Full Spectrum Effects (FSE) business development. Prior to joining AMERICAN SYSTEMS, Hunt had a distinguished 27-year career in the United States Marine Corps as a Naval aviator.
Hunt is based out of AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ Dumfries, Va. Office.
Bob Irelan has been promoted to vice president and director of Navy Expeditionary Warfare, part of the Professional Services Market Sector. He brings over 27 years of experience ranging from maintenance, operations to training and management of U.S. Navy ships, to his new role assisting his US Navy customers in the successful implementation of the upcoming mid-life modernization for the Navy’s big deck LHDs (landing helicopter deck).
Irelan joined AMERICAN SYSTEMS in 2010, as the Program Manager for the Navy Training Systems Planning (NTSP) initiative supporting Naval Sea Systems Command, PMS 470 and Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD). Irelan led the expansion of the initiative through superb performance and will continue to provide this level of support to the customer in his new role. Prior to joining AMERICAN SYSTEMS, Irelan served as a Commander LHD/LHA/LPD CLASSRON.
