March 26, 2009—Chantilly, VA—AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a government and commercial IT solutions provider and one of the top 100 employee-owned companies in the U.S., today announced that Federal Computer Week has named its President and CEO, William C. “Bill” Hoover, to the Federal 100 list. The 2009 Federal 100 Awards recognize individuals from government, industry and academia who significantly influenced how the federal government bought, used or managed information technology in 2008. Bill Hoover, along with the other Federal 100 winners, was honored at the 20th Annual Federal 100 Awards Gala on March 25 in McLean, VA.
“This award is a reflection of the professional dedication and vision that all AMERICAN SYSTEMS team members bring to their work,” said William C. Hoover, President and CEO of AMERICAN SYSTEMS. “I am honored to have accepted this award in recognition of the efforts made day in and day out by the 1,300 AMERICAN SYSTEMS employee-owners whose talents are directly responsible for the innovative and custom solutions on which our reputation is built.”
The publication selected Mr. Hoover based on his leadership of one of the only majority employee-owned professional services firms in the country. Under Mr. Hoover’s stewardship, AMERICAN SYSTEMS has built a strong new business pipeline, kicked off an aggressive merger and acquisition campaign and expanded its corporate citizenship efforts through partnerships with the Wounded Warrior Campaign, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and local school systems.
