BOSS-U Contract

The BOSS-U Acquisition is a part of the DoD’s overall plan to comply with Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) 24 and National Security Presidential Directive (NSPD) 59. These mandates require that U.S. intelligence agencies, the Department of State, the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security leverage common information technology and data standards, protocols and interfaces to ensure compatibility in the methods used to collect, store and share biometric information.

Under the contract, selected companies will develop and deploy interoperable biometric hardware and software and provide a suite of services in six areas: management support services; infrastructure procurement design, development and integration; operations and maintenance; advanced technology demonstration; studies and analysis; and test and evaluation.

ITEC4 selected AMERICAN SYSTEMS through a competitive review process for the provision of biometric services. AMERICAN SYSTEMS and the other selected companies may bid on task orders placed under the contract that has a three-year base period with two one-year option periods. Warranted contract officers may place orders for the BTF, DoD Components or other federal agencies that need biometrically-enabled solutions. The ceiling value for all work under the contract is $497 million.
